Zoning

The City of Oak Forest Zoning Ordinance and Zoning Map were approved in 2014. The Zoning Ordinance regulates land use, lot size, landscaping, parking and other development related requirements, as well as procedures to request zoning relief from the Planning and Zoning Commission and City Council. The Zoning Map (see below) illustrates the zoning districts described in the Zoning Ordinance.

The Community Development Department is responsible for reviewing projects for compliance with the Zoning Ordinance and amended it as directed by the Planning and Zoning Commission and City Council. For development requirements visit the Zoning Applications page.
