Alderwoman Laura Gray (née Clemons) has been an active member of the community since moving to Oak Forest in 1996. Although she began as a volunteer in the police department's animal control program, her passion for community service flourished when she became the chairperson for the city's Streetscape Commission and a member of the Civil Service Commission. In fact, as the Streetscape Commission chair, Laura organized many beautification projects throughout the city, including the Forest in Bloom Award program.
In addition to her community service work, Laura's career in the financial services and investment banking industry has prepared her for the role of alderman. As such, she understands the importance of integrity and teamwork. Laura's promise to First Ward residents is to provide a high level of communication and responsiveness.
In addition to her civic service, Laura volunteers and supports several local animal welfare organizations.
