James Hortsman was elected 6th Ward alderman in April 2013. As alderman, James strives to be transparent and responsive to residents in an effort to meet their needs.
In addition to his public service, James works as an account executive for a graphic communication company. He has been in the commercial printing business in various functions, including accounting, production and sales/marketing for more than 40 years. James holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Dayton in Ohio.
Prior to becoming an alderman, James served eight years on the District 142 School Board and volunteered in various youth, civic, and high school organizations.
James and his wife Donna have three adult children.
