The Oak Forest Police Department is a proud organization consisting of 40 full-time officers, 12 full-time telecommunicators/clerks, one full-time animal control officer, 18 crossing guards, and two part-time police officers. The Police Department responds to more than 23,000 calls for service per year.
The Police Department consists of three divisions. The Patrol Division responds to citizen calls for service and is responsible for preventative patrol activity. It is the most visible division. The Investigations Division handles follow-up of all criminal incidents within the city, including juvenile matters. The Administrative Division coordinates police/fire radio telecommunications, department training, police records, public information, crossing guards, animal control, and police equipment.
