Welcome to the Oak Forest Police Department. The department is comprised of 64 men and women dedicated to serving our  residents and visitors to Oak Forest. It is a full-service law enforcement agency consisting of patrol, investigative and support services bureaus. These bureaus include assignments such as patrol, canine, investigative, dispatch (911) services, tactical, crime-free housing, records, field training, evidence and property, professional standards, and animal control.
One of our goals is to be transparent and responsive to our community's needs. To help accomplish this, we will be expanding our section of the Web site to include pertinent information to not only make contacting us as easy as possible, but also to demonstrate the quality police services we provide. Mission Statement
The mission of the Oak Forest Police Department is to improve the quality of life for all who live in, work in, or visit our community by delivering professional, effective police services. Members of the Oak Forest Police Department are dedicated to accomplishing the mission by the following:
1. Identification of criminal activity, the pursuit and apprehension of criminal offenders, and to promote the prosecution of known offenders.
2. Maintaining a pro-active patrol and investigative force thus reducing the opportunity for the commission of crime and allowing for a greater chance of apprehension and prosecution when a crime does transpire.
3. Facilitating the movement of people and vehicles through the use of traffic and pedestrian analysis and the commitment of the selective traffic enforcement resources.
4. Instilling public confidence in the agency by maintaining a high degree of professionalism, dedication, and expertise in the development of police services.
By working in partnership with the community, the Oak Forest Police Department will work to develop innovative solutions for the challenges facing our city to ensure a high quality of life by our residents.
