Veterans Commission

The Oak Forest Veterans Commission promotes programs for veterans, raises awareness of veterans' welfare issues, represents the city at community events, participates in programs with other veterans' groups, and recognizes the accomplishments of local veterans. In addition, the Veterans Commission serves as a repository of information about veterans' issues, such as securing benefits from the federal government.

Do you want to know about information and events that are important to you?  If so, send an e-mail to the commission.

Happy Birthday Lawn Sign

The Oak Forest Veterans Commission wants to bring birthday cheer to veterans across town through its Happy Birthday, Veteran lawn sign program. All we need to know is the date and the address.  A commission member will stake a birthday sign in the front lawn sometime before the big day. The birthday person gets to keep the sign!  If you are a veteran or know one who will be celebrating a birthday soon, please let us know
