The City of Oak Forest Comprehensive Plan
On February 12, 2008, the Oak Forest City Council approved the City's Comprehensive Plan, the official policy guide for future land use and economic development wtihin the community.  The Council's approval marks the end of a yearlong process to complete a city-wide plan, which was last updated in 1964.

The rewrite process included a series of community meetings to address specific elements of the plan, including the area surrounding the Metra station, the pedestrian and bicycle pathways, and the City's housing policies.  The plan addresses the changed conditions in and around the City and provides effective policy guidance over the next 10-15 years.

The links below provide access to the approved Comprehensive Plan and the Background that was completed as part of the planning process.  The Plan is also available for viewing at City Hall or Acorn Library.
