COMMUNITY ALERT
With Election Day upon us, we know that some residents and businesses may be concerned with the potential of civil unrest or looting. The City of Oak Forest and its’ Police Department want to reassure residents that we are prepared for any issues throughout the day and week if they occur. The department has added extra manpower, spoken with state officials, and is speaking to businesses that could be construed as potential targets should any looting or civil unrest occur.
As of right now, the City of Oak Forest has not identified or been informed of any threat of unrest in the area. Throughout this evening and the rest of this week, the Police Department will continue to monitor information and any potential issues in Oak Forest or nearby communities. I would like to remind residents to call the Police Department (non-emergency 708-687-1376 or emergency 9-1-1) if they see something that seems wrong, a crime about to be committed, in progress or already committed.
The Oak Forest Police Department, residents, and businesses have always worked together to ensure the safety of our community. With this continued effort, we will ensure Oak Forest remains safe for all those who live, work, operate businesses and travel through our city.
Stay Safe and Healthy,
Henry L. Kuspa
Mayor
City of Oak Forest
