OFPD collects nearly 500 toys during Fill the Squad toy drive


The weather conditions were in the high 30s, with rain, and 16 MPH winds, but that did not stop Oak Forest residents from coming out to Walgreens on 159th Street on Friday, November 27 to donate to the Fill the Squad toy drive.

The Oak Forest Police Department conducted the first round of the 2015-2016 Kids Can’t Buy Them Here (KCBTH) tobacco compliance surveys at various retailers during the evening hours of Wednesday, November 25, within the City of Oak Forest.  The purpose of the KCBTH program is to determine which businesses may be selling tobacco products to minors (persons under 18 years of age) within the city.

The 2003 Ford Crown Victoria is no longer required for city service and is offered for sale by sealed bid only.  The vehicle will be sold as-is, where-is without warranty or guarantee.  No acknowledgement is made as to the condition of said vehicle.  Taxes and other fees are the responsibility of the purchaser. 


Public Hearing: Proposed Property Tax Increase


There will be a public hearing on Tuesday, December 8 at 8 p.m. in Council Chambers to approve a proposed property tax increase for the City of Oak Forest.  Any person desiring to appear at the public hearing and present testimony to the taxing district may contact City Clerk Scott Burkhardt at 708-687-4050.

Learn what’s going on at upcoming council meetings 


The City Council will meet on Tuesday, December 8 at 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall for a Committee of the Whole meeting.  The City Council also will meet at 8 p.m. in Council Chambers for its regularly scheduled meeting.  Citizens are invited to attend both meetings and are welcome to participate at the designated times.

City Hall will be closed tomorrow.  During non-business hours, please use the night deposit mail slot at City Hall, pay parking or ordinance tickets online or sign up for online water bill payments.
