Three national retailers coming to Oak Forest in 2016


The City of Oak Forest is pleased to announce that three national retailers will open stores in Oak Forest in 2016.  The retailers are Family Dollar at 5400 W. 159th Street, Ace Hardware at 15426 S. Cicero Avenue, and Starbucks at the northwest corner of 159th and Cicero Avenue.

There's still time to apply 


The Oak Forest Police Department has extended the application deadline for its Citizens Police Academy, a 12-week program designed to provide residents a working knowledge of law enforcement and police department operations.  The program is free and starts February 1.

OFFD Captain Jim Pioth inducted into Senior Illinois Hall of Fame 


Oak Forest Fire Department Captain Jim Pioth was one of three people recently inducted into the 2015 Senior Illinois Hall of Fame.  Pioth received the honor in the labor force category.

City Hall closed on Saturday


City Hall will be closed tomorrow.  During non-business hours, please use the night deposit mail slot at City Hall, pay parking or ordinance tickets online or sign up for online water bill payments.

If you are a cable television subscriber, you can view the Community Information Channel (CIC-TV) on Comcast channel 19, Wide Open West channel 6 and AT&T U-verse channel 99 to learn more about city programs and events.  If you do not subscribe to cable television, you can watch Committee of the Whole and City Council meetings online or check out the DVDs at Acorn Public Library.
