Due to the state budget impasse, the Secretary of State's office has suspended the mailing of vehicle registration renewal reminder notices, which will save approximately $450,000 per month. To avoid a possible ticket for an expired sticker, sign up to receive email reminders when your plate sticker expires.

Are you registered to vote?


Are you registered to vote in the Presidential Primary Election on March 15?  To vote in Illinois, you must be a United States citizen, 18 years old on or before Election Day, live in your election precinct at least 30 days prior to Election Day, not be convicted and in jail, and not claim to vote anywhere else.  The deadline to register to vote for the primary election is February 16.  To register, go to City Hall during regular business hours.  You must have two forms of identification, both with signatures and current address.  You can also register online with a valid Illinois driver's license or state ID.

City Hall is closed tomorrow


City Hall is closed Saturday, January 16.  During non-business hours, please use the night deposit mail slot at City Hall, pay parking or ordinance tickets online or sign up for online water bill payments.

If you are a cable television subscriber, you can view the Community Information Channel (CIC-TV) on Comcast channel 19, Wide Open West channel 6 and AT&T U-verse channel 99 to learn more about city programs and events.  If you do not subscribe to cable television, you can watch Committee of the Whole and City Council meetings online or check out the DVDs at Acorn Public Library.
