ComEd to begin trimming trees soon


Beginning in February, ComEd will trim trees for reliability issues along its power lines in the El Vista East, Fawn Court, and Crescent Green subdivisions. Affected residents with trees on private property that are to be trimmed will be notified by letter directly from ComEd.   

Fleadh 5K

Register for the CNB Fleadh 5K


The 7th Annual CNB Oak Forest Fleadh 5K is on Saturday, March 5 at 8:30 a.m.  Register today to run or walk the rolling 3.1 mile course, which takes you through the heart of Oak Forest’s St. Patrick's Day celebrations as you race up and down Cicero Avenue and through charming city streets.  Race activities take place in the Metra commuter lot so that you can park (for free), register, warm up, and enjoy post-race snacks in one location! 

Please note: participants who register by February 11 will have the option to purchase a short-sleeve dry tech shirt for an additional $5.  After February 11, all participants will receive a short-sleeve cotton shirt and goodie bag.

Opportunity Knocks

Get involved in the Street Art Commission


Alderman Diane Wolf invites residents to the Street Art Commission’s first meeting on Monday, February 8 at City Hall. The commission’s objective is to help beautify Oak Forest and create a more interesting physical environment for citizens to enjoy. The commission’s first project, Opportunity Knocks, featured colorful doors by local artists at the northwest corner of 159th and Cicero Avenue.

Don't miss the Oak Forest Rotary Club's FREE Pancake Breakfast and Blood Drive on Sunday, February 21 from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Oak Forest High School.
