New ads hit CTA bus, rail system

The City of Oak Forest is bringing its All Good Things Close to Home message to the Chicago Transit Authority’s bus and rail system.  The simple yet eye-catching posters and digital platform displays are designed to capture the interest of workers and employers in Chicago’s Loop as well as families traveling downtown.  

District schools rank in top 25 for homebuyers  

Cruvita School Score recently released its list of the top 25 high schools for homebuyers in Cook County, Illinois.  Twenty one of the schools received Cruvita's Gold Medal of excellence for high schools in the nation, including Oak Forest High School (11), Tinley Park High School (12) and Andrew High School (13).

Don't miss Dr. Dolehide on Feb. 25

At the next Senior Luncheon on Thursday, February 25, Dr. Kevin Dolehide will discuss the importance of having a colonoscopy and answer questions from the audience.  Tickets for the luncheon are $4 and are available at City Hall.  The Community Center opens at 10 a.m. and the program begins at 11 a.m.

If you are a cable television subscriber, you can view the Community Information Channel (CIC-TV) on Comcast channel 19, Wide Open West channel 6 and AT&T U-verse channel 99 to learn more about city programs and events.  If you do not subscribe to cable television, you can watch Committee of the Whole and City Council meetings online or check out the DVDs at Acorn Public Library.

City Hall is closed tomorrow and Monday


City Hall is closed Saturday, February 13 and Monday, February 15 (Presidents Day). During non-business hours, please use the night deposit mail slot at City Hall, pay parking or ordinance tickets online or sign up for online water bill payments. Garbage pickup will be on schedule on Monday.
