After 19 years of service to the City of Oak Forest, City Clerk Scott Burkhardt is retiring on July 1. Burkhardt was elected city clerk in 1997 and became a certified municipal clerk in 2006.

The City of Oak Forest is seeking a full-time Human Resources Manager to be an important member of its management team. The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for developing, organizing, planning, and implementing the city’s comprehensive human resources program.

Oak Fest mega passes go on sale at City Hall tomorrow from 9 a.m. to noon. Vehicle stickers are now on sale. Residents that currently have their vehicles registered with the city, should have received their applications in the mail. Senior citizens, 65 and older, are eligible to receive two free vehicle stickers per household with proper ID and vehicle registration.

The City of Oak Forest, in conjunction with the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, is pleased to offer free rain barrels to our residents. There is a limit of four barrels per household.

City Hall will be open Saturday, June 25 from 9 a.m. to noon.

Beginning July 6, Taxpayer Advocate Guy Gattone will hold office hours every Monday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at City Hall. His office will be open until Bremen Township closes for appeals with the Cook County Board of Review.

The City Council will meet on Tuesday, June 28 at 8 p.m. for its regular meeting in Council Chambers at City Hall. Citizens are invited to attend the meetings and are welcome to participate at the designated time.
