City ends electrical aggregation program

In 2012, following the passage of a voter referendum, the City of Oak Forest established an electric aggregation program to negotiate lower electrical rates for residents.  The city selected FirstEnergy Solutions as its electrical supplier.  However, now that the savings margin versus the ComEd base rate – established by the state of Illinois – has narrowed, the City Council recently voted to end its contract with FirstEnergy Solutions.  Residents who were a part of the electrical aggregation program automatically will revert back to ComEd. No action is required.
