City names Kristin police chief 


The City of Oak Forest has named Tim Kristin as its chief of police, effective Monday, September 19. Kristin’s appointment was approved by the City Council on September 13.  The council also approved Sergeant Jason Reid's appointment as deputy chief.  


Last chance to appeal property taxes 


Bremen Township is open for tax appeals until September 20. Appeal forms are available at City Hall. They must be completed and returned by September 26. If you have any questions, please contact Tax Advocate Guy Gattone at 708-687-4050, ext. 1031 or attend Cook County Commissioner Dan Patlak's tax appeal seminar on Tuesday, September 6 at 7 p.m. at City Hall.

During non-business hours, please use the night deposit mail slot at City Hall, pay parking or ordinance tickets online or sign up for online water bill payments.

If you are a cable television subscriber, you can view the Community Information Channel (CIC-TV) on Comcast channel 19, Wide Open West channel 6 and AT&T U-verse channel 99 to learn more about city programs and events.  If you do not subscribe to cable television, you can watch Committee of the Whole and City Council meetings online or check out the DVDs at Acorn Public Library.
