Civil Service Commission seeks to establish eligibility list for telecommuniator


The Civil Service Commission of the City of Oak Forest is seeking qualified applicants for the full-time position of emergency telecommunicator.  The commission is establishing an eligibility list only. There are no open positions at this time.  

Rotary offering $1,000 scholarship award to local high school seniors 

The Rotary Club of Oak Forest is accepting scholarship applications to recognize outstanding graduating seniors with a $1,000 scholarship award, based on social and civic involvement in the community. The awards cater to the intelligent, well-rounded student enrolled in a college, trade or technical school for post-secondary education. Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit their applications before the April 11 deadline. As always, award recipients must furnish proof of school enrollment for 2015.  Who is eligible? Seniors graduating from a high school in 2015, who are currently residents of Oak Forest or attend Oak Forest High School or Bremen High School, and will attend college or a trade school in the fall. Immediate family members of Oak Forest Rotarians are not eligible.


Early voting at City Hall begins March 23

Senior Commission presents Spoon River Anthology 

Three presenters from the Illinois Humanities Council will narrate epitaphs of the Spoon River residents, demystify their rural American life, and reveal the real history of their lives at the Senior Commission's monthly luncheon on Thursday, March 26 at the Community Center.  Doors open at 10 a.m.; program starts at 11 a.m.  Lunch and bingo to follow presentation.  Tickets are $4 and are available at the door.

City Hall will be closed tomorrow, March 14.  During non-business hours, please use the night deposit mail slot at City Hall, pay parking or ordinance tickets online, or sign up for online water bill payments.
