The Oak Forest Veterans Commission will host the 6th Annual I Am An American Day Parade on Sunday, September 3 at 11 a.m. on Central Avenue between 151st Street and 156th Street.  The patriotic parade will lead to the Oak Forest Park District’s Old Times Picnic — a fun-filled event for all ages that has become an Oak Forest tradition.  Families are invited to decorate their bikes, wagons or strollers and help lead the parade, which steps off from Jack Hille Middle School.  Register now!

vehicle sticker

Is your vehicle sticker current?

City ordinance requires all motor vehicles registered or housed in the City of Oak Forest to display a current city vehicle sticker.  Vehicle stickers are valid from July 1 through June 30 each year.  The deadline for purchasing a vehicle sticker at the regular price of $25 was June 30.  Any vehicle without a current sticker is at risk of receiving a $50 ticket from the police department.  Anyone who receives a ticket will be required to purchase a vehicle sticker at the penalty rate of $50.  If you do not have a current vehicle sticker, avoid the added expense of a ticket by stopping into City Hall to purchase one today.

Five-O
The Oak Forest Police Department was the top fundraising team at the "Five-O at the Dirty-O" stock car race on Saturday.  The team contributed $20,100 of the overall $75,000 raised for Special Olympics.  We'd like to give a special shout-out to Officer Mike Lynch, who drove the department's stock car in the race.
