If you are a cable television subscriber, you can view the Community Information Channel (CIC-TV) on Comcast channel 19, Wide Open West channel 6 and AT&T U-verse channel 99 to learn more about city programs and events.  If you do not subscribe to cable television, you can watch Committee of the Whole and City Council meetings online or check out the DVDs at Acorn Public Library.

City Hall will be closed on Saturday January 13th, but we are open on Monday January 15th.

"The Wall That Heals"

The City has announced that the replica of the Vietnam Veteran Memorial in Washington DC called " The Wall That Heals" will come to the City of Oak Forest in October of 2018. We will announce the exact date at a later date.

Are you registered to vote?
 
Are you registered to vote for State and Local candidates in the March 20th Primary Election?  To vote in Illinois, you must be a United States citizen, 18 years old on or before Election Day, live in your election precinct at least 30 days prior to Election Day, not be convicted and in jail, and not claim to vote anywhere else. To register, go to City Hall during regular business hours.  You must have two forms of identification, both with signatures and current address.  You can also register online with a valid Illinois driver's license or state ID.  Early voting in Oak Forest begins on Saturday, March 5 and will end on Monday, March 19. 


The City has been receiving many calls about frozen pipes and water meters in their homes.

Reminder to residents:  Snow is forecast for Sunday, please keep in mind the city’s ordinance prohibiting vehicles from parking on city streets after 2” of snow has fallen. This ordinance ensures that Public Works crews can clear and salt the streets effectively and efficiently.

We're hiring: Part-time Communications Coordinator

The Communications Coordinator is a part-time professional position.  The Coordinator is responsible for the dissemination of public information to the community through marketing services and social media programs to residents, businesses and the general public. The Coordinator also plans and markets special events of the City. The position receives general administrative direction from the City Administrator and Mayor.
