Oak Forest Police Department establishes bike patrol


In an effort to provide a secure, relaxed and family-oriented atmosphere in the parks and recreational areas of town, the Oak Forest Police Department recently established a bike patrol program comprised of nine officers, who completed an in-house certification program on July 28.     

Resumes for 4th Ward alderman due August 14


Due to the recent resignation of the 4th Ward alderman, the Mayor's Office is accepting resumes from residents who are interested in filling the seat until Friday, August 14.  The resident appointed to the position by the mayor will serve until April 2017 when the position is up for election.

Help Wanted: Part-time Community Bus Driver  


Join our team as a part-time community bus driver.Having experience operating a minimum 26-foot passenger bus or equivalent type of vehicle is desired. Having a detailed knowledge of the streets and business locations within the City of Oak Forest is strongly preferred. The possession of a state of Illinois Class ‘C’ Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with a Passenger Endorsement is mandatory.

Lunchbox Love Food Drive

Bremen Township adds activities at senior luncheons 


Bremen Township is adding fun activities to its senior lunch (60+) program at the Bremen Cafe at 15350 Oak Park Avenue.  There will be a raffle drawing for 10-lunch tickets ($35 value) on August 18 and an ice cream social on August 24.  Check out the menu and reserve your spot for lunch at noon by calling 708-687-8220.  A $4 donation is requested but is not required.  Lunch is provided by Bremen Township in partnership with AgeOptions. 

City Hall is closed on Saturday


City Hall will be closed on Saturday, August 1.  During non-business hours, please use the night deposit mail slot at City Hall, pay parking and ordinance tickets online or sign up for online water bill payments.

Water conservation measures in effect until September 15


Odd/even sprinkling rules are in effect between until September 15. Sprinkling is allowed from 7 to 11 a.m. and 7 to 11 p.m. on the odd/even basis.  If the last digit in your street address is odd (1, 3, 5, 7, 9) then you may sprinkle only on odd numbered calendar days. If the last digit in your address is even (2, 4, 6, 8, 0) then you are restricted to sprinkling on even numbered calendar days.
