Sleep in Heavenly Peace Bed BuildSleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP) is a nonprofit organization that helps build beds for families with children in need of a place to sleep. SHP recently held a bed build day at the Oak Forest Fire House.
Chapter President Dave King organized the event and gives viewers a tour of the various steps involved in fulfilling the goal of the organization. This production showcases the volunteer efforts of the Oak Forest community as well as the fire department. Be sure to get involved in the next bed build day in Oak Forest!

Memorial Day Ceremony Monday, May 27, 2019 at 11 AM
Please join the Owen W. Winter, Jr. VFW Post 4241 and the City of Oak Forest for the 2019 Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday, May 27, 2019 at the Veterans Memorial outside City Hall. Program begins at 11 AM.
Local organizations and businesses will present wreaths to honor our veterans as a reminder of the sacrifices they made while in service.

OF Firefighter Retires After 31 YearsThe Oak Forest Fire Department says good-bye today to Firefighter/Paramedic Jeffery Matusik. Jeff will be retiring after serving the City of Oak Forest for 31 years, the last 26 years as a career Firefighter. As Jeff retires to the lake, he will be greatly missed by his brothers and sisters of the Oak Forest Fire Department.
Jeff made a few comments on social media about his time in the Oak Forest Fire Department and the friends he has made over the years, "We have endured many obstacles good and bad. I cherish everyone of you and will continue to always be there for whom ever needs this brother... Thank You Oak Forest for letting me be part of the growth and taking care of and protecting this great town."

Join us Thursday, May 23, 2019 at the Senior Center (Oak Forest Community Center) 15501 S. Kilpatrick Avenue. Doors open at 10 AM. Entertainment begins at 11 AM. Lunch is at 12 noon. After lunch, stay for free cash bingo at 12:45 PM.

Join the Oak Forest Senior Commission! The Oak Forest Senior Commission is looking for senior citizens who might like to serve as members of this commission, which meets in City Hall on every second Wednesday of the month at 1:00 PM.
The Senior Commission gets involved in various community events, such as the annual Health Fair at the Oak Forest Park District and monthly senior lunches at the Oak Forest Community Center.
