The City of Oak Forest wishes the students at Oak Forest High School a happy and safe homecoming. Cheer on the Bengals tonight (sophomores at 5 p.m., varsity at 7 p.m.) as they take on the Bremen Braves!

Staff from Ingalls Care Center will be conducting free blood pressure screenings tomorrow at the Oak Forest Farmers Market from 9 a.m. to noon at the train station. The market is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday through October 3.

Learn what’s going on at upcoming council meetings

The City Council will meet on Tuesday, September 22 at 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall for a Committee of the Whole meeting. The City Council also will meet at 8 p.m. in Council Chambers for its regularly scheduled meeting. Citizens are invited to attend both meetings and are welcome to participate at the designated times.

If you do not subscribe to cable television, you can watch Committee of the Whole and City Council meetings online or check out the DVDs at Acorn Public Library.
