The Oak Forest Senior Commission will host its annual Senior Health Fair on Thursday, October 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Oak Forest Park District.  Admission to the fair is free!

There's only two markets left!  Join us tomorrow at the train station from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.  There will be plenty of fresh produce, grass-fed beef, fall mums, delicious baked goods, and more.  The Animal Welfare Leauge will be at the market in case you want to add to your family through pet adoption.

Free Community Shred Day tomorrow at Standard Bank


Protect your personal information by bringing your confidential documents to Standard Bank and Trust's (15901 S. Central Avenue) free Community Shred Day on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon.  Please note there is a limit of 4 banker boxes per household.

Senior Firehouse Breakfast
Yesterday the Oak Forest Fire Department opened its doors to local seniors at the Senior Firehouse Breakfast.  Seniors enjoyed pancakes and eggs prepared by firefighters and served by members of the Oak Forest-Crestwood Area Chamber of Commerce.

If you are a cable television subscriber, you can view the Community Information Channel (CIC-TV) on Comcast channel 19, Wide Open West channel 6 and AT&T U-verse channel 99 to learn more about city programs and events.  If you do not subscribe to cable television, you can watch Committee of the Whole and City Council meetings online or check out the DVDs at Acorn Public Library.
