Open House On Proposed Bike Trail Tuesday, September 17, 6 - 8 PM The City of Oak Forest is hosting an Open House on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 for Oak Forest residents and trail enthusiasts to learn more about a proposed multi-use trail connecting the Cal-Sag Trail along the Channel to the Tinley Creek Trail in the Cook County Forest Preserves in Oak Forest. Oak Forest is partnering with 4 other communities to develop the Natalie Creek Trail, a 12.5-mile route for bicycles and pedestrians from Crestwood and Blue Island through Midlothian to Oak Forest.
This Open House will be held in the Council Chambers at City Hall, located at 15440 S. Central Avenue from 6-8 p.m. The purpose will be to share ideas on the Trail and gather input from residents, cycle enthusiasts and stakeholders. This project is in the preliminary engineering phase of the project where the best route options are studied. All interested parties are welcome to attend.
The Natalie Creek Trail is being funded by a grant from the Invest in Cook County Program and matching contributions from the municipalities of Oak Forest, Crestwood and Midlothian.
For more information, please contact the Trail consultant, Ken Chastain of Farnsworth Group at 708.326.4000 or at kchastain@f-w.com. Or you can contact Travis Bandstra, Director of Community and Economic Development for Oak Forest at 708.444.4807 or at tbandstra@oak-forest.org.
