The City of Oak Forest and VFW Post 4241 will hold its annual Memorial Day ceremony on Monday, May 25 at 11 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial at City Hall.

On Friday, May 29, from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oak Forest police officers will perch themselves on the rooftop of the Dunkin Donuts on 159th Street to heighten awareness and raise money for the Law Enforcement Torch Run to benefit Special Olympics Illinois.

We're kicking off the Oak Forest Farmers Market on May 30 with an electronics recycling event sponsored by the Oak Forest Green Steps Commission. Recycling will take place at the Metra train station from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Be sure to visit the Farmers Market on your way out! Please note: VetTech.Us is charging $10 per TV.

Cook County Department of Animal and Rabies Control will be providing low-cost rabies shots to dog, cats and ferrets of Cook County residents. Mobile clinic services will be offered on a first -come, first served basis until 2:45 p.m. Pet owners must present a valid driver's license or state ID. For public safety, all pets must be leashed or caged at all times. Microchips WILL NOT be available at this event. |
